Boudreau is at his best when he’s getting to the front of the net. He displays tremendous skill in tight and under pressure, where he manages to find open space and fight for loose pucks. He shows an ability to slide back into soft spots to make himself a passing option, and rarely misses on a scoring opportunity, showing impressive accuracy on a quick snap shot.
- Instincts & Vision
- Net-Front Puck Skills
Boudreau continues to show an improving level of intelligence and understanding of the game. As the season wears on, he seems to be reading and processing plays at a much higher level than at the beginning of the year. A hard-worker with a tireless engine, Boudreau never takes a night off and has proven to be a consistent force and offensive catalyst for the Marlboros.
With a very strong core, Boudreau is able to enthusiastically engage in the physical side of the game by finishing his checks with authority. He is most dangerous when operating from the cycle, where he effectively distributes the puck and positions himself in lucrative areas. Boudreau possesses an accurate shot with a quick and powerful release, allowing him to take advantage of lateral puck movement and pick corners with regularity.
Area of Improvement:
- Top-End Speed
Marc Boudreau is an efficient skater with a powerful stride and impressive strength behind his centre of mass. However, he lacks the high-end speed that would allow him to blow by defenders on the rush. With solid agility and foot speed, Boudreau packs a lot behind his skating, but adding another gear would undoubtedly make him one of the more dangerous wingers in the GTHL.

An effective producer with a bit of a grinder’s mentality, Boudreau’s game would benefit tremendously with the addition of some more straight-line pace, allowing him to consider more opportunities on the breakout and forecheck. In all, Boudreau remains an extremely impactful winger who can chip in offensively on a consistent basis and provide a physical element to the Marlboros game.
Quickly, Marc Boudreau has risen up the ranks amongst Marlboro forwards in both reliability and offensive effectiveness. A hard-hitting hound on the puck, Boudreau regularly forces turnovers and maintains heavy pressure in the offensive zone. He finds soft spots behind defencemen to make himself a passing option and is impeccable in front of the net with deflections, rebounds, and impressive moves in tight.
All in all, Boudreau has shown that he is only scratching the surface of his potential, with plenty of room to grow still in the 2018-19 season. At this time, he projects as a mid-to-late second round pick for the 2019 OHL Draft.
